La Cueva de los Verdes

These "Green Caves" are an underground cave system formed some 3000 years ago during the eruptions of Monte Corona. Over 6km long La Cueva de los Verdes is the longest volcanic tunnel in the world !

The cave measures more than 15m wide by 15m high (approx. 4-5 storey's) and the lowest part of the cave is occasionally used as a concert hall.

In 1964, Jesus Soto transformed almost 2km of caves, respecting to the utmost it's structure, with the installation of a magnificent lighting system that enhaces this natural phenomenon, highlighting all it's splendour the hues of the caves walls.
